The lips are most balanced when the upper and lower lips are equal in size, or thickness. If they are not highlights and shadows can be used to re-contour them. Remember, light color reflect light, so using lighter lip color will give a fuller appearance. Dark colors absorb light, so they will make lips look smaller/thinner. To give the illusion of a fuller pout, apply a dab of gloss to the top part of your Cupid's bow and to the center of the bottom of your lip.

Making your Eyes Pop By Changing their Shape

Just as you can use highlights and shadows to contour your face, you can use the same info to alter your eye shape, by using your knowledge of light and shadow to change them.

If you want to add definition, sweep a light bronzer through the crease of the eye - which is halfway between the lash line and the eyebrow.  As one ages, the eye area loses elasticity and things are not as shapely as they used to be.  This technique gives the more mature face more definition.

Makeup Brush Mistakes to Avoid:

1. Do not use hard or stiff brushes.
2. Do not use a brush that is too big or too small with bristles that are too sparse, they won't hold up over time.
3. Do not forget to knock the excess powder off the brush before you apply the color to your face.
4. Do not wipe or rub the brush across the face; instead, gently brush on the color with short even strokes.
5. Do not forget to use your blending brush to blend out hard edges and soften your color application.
6. Do not forget to gently wash your brushes with baby shampoo every month or so, unless you are using them on a variety of people, in which case you should be washing or disinfecting them every day.
