The Amazing Walk Through the History of Makeup

The history of cosmetics spans at least 6000 years and is present in almost every society on earth. Some maintain that cosmetic body art was the earliest form of ritual in human culture, dating over 100,000 years ago from the African Middle Stone Age.

During the 16th Century – as an aristocrat –  makeup was favored for the endless stream of balls and parties.

Flappers, Vamps and Silent Movie Queens

At the end of the 19th Century the ‘face’ of makeup changed with the excitement of theatre and silent movie actresses. The period saw the dark, sooty eyes with small rosebud lips.  What was previously makeup for the privileged became makeup for the masses.Flappers - 6 - image

From Desk to Dancefloor

It’s the same tale every year – it’s the night of your office Christmas party and you and the entire female contingency are crammed in the Ladies  trying to spruce yourselves up for a night on the tiles.
Glam look - imageYou’ve left yourself minimal minutes to change, let alone freshen up your make-up. And since there’s no time to remove your entire daytime look and start from scratch, you need to know how to tweak what you’ve got on already to make it a whole lot more glam.
Follow these easy guide below and transform your day makeup into a glam night time look.

Day-to-Night Holiday Makeup Looks That Take 5 Minutes or Less

It’s  a fact (of life) that work can put a serious damper on getting ready for said engagements. After all, the sparkly holiday eye makeup we’re donning for our friend’s holiday party probably isn’t going to fly at the office.
So we called upon Urban DecayLead Artist Amanda Rodriguez to show us how to take our normal, everyday office makeup and transform it into something worthy of wearing under the mistletoe. The catch: She could only use products that we’d reasonably carry in our purse, and it had to be something we could pull of reasonably quickly at our desk.
For the challenge, our editors showed up to work wearing their usual daytime makeup. Rodriguez then built up each look with a festive holiday flair. Here, nine gorgeous, desk-to-dusk holiday makeup looks — plus, how to recreate them.

Permanent Makeup

ll the procedure what you will (and many do, dubbing it everything from "permanent makeup" to "micro-pigmentation"), going under the needle means not worrying about smudged eyeliner at a last-minute presentation—among other benefits.

plastic surgery, not every procedure has a happy outcome. Just because someone can handle a tattoo gun doesn't mean she's adept at using it to conjure flawless arches.
If someone's brow shape is already wrong for her face, and the tattooer follows it anyway, it looks even worse than before. The choice of color can also backfire. Black eyeliner is one thing, but you have to select a brow shade the way you do concealer—based on your skin and whether its undertones are blue or yellow.

Things You Must Know About Permanent Makeup!

We all are makeup junkies. We can spend even hours on perfecting our makeup. But, what if I told you there is a way to have a permanent winged eyeliner or permanently perfect red pout? Will you be game for it?
What is Permanent Makeup?Permanent makeup 2 - image
It is a cosmetic procedure, much like getting a tattoo done in which your natural features are enhanced by producing designs on your face that look like makeup.
How Is It Done?
How is a tattoo done? By the needle that penetrates your skin and releases pigment. Right? Well, this is how permanent makeup is done.  Then, just like tattoo, your technician will sketch the area according to what kind of makeup you want with a surgical sterile pen. A vibrating needle is used to release the pigment into the skin and giving you your desired makeup look.
Healing Time After Permanent Makeup
You will most likely have redness and mild swelling that could last from few hours to few days. The applied makeup color will look so much darker than your desired one for few days. It takes about 5-7 days for the exact color to show up.
